Breathtaking rock formations are recognizable as we descend onto the landing site. After a short stop your helicopter will track to the Kaituna Valley in Golden Bay. This diverse landscape has changed so many times that the silence of the forest broken by ever increasing birdsong has a settling effect. Of great interest are the stories of the forest, its rejuvenation, unique growing habits and the history, trials and hardships of the early gold miners.
Lunch at The Naked Possum, a destination on its own, will be a platter of local gourmet foods.
The main walk of the afternoon starts with a farm experience moving through stock, past Dune Lakes, Maori food pits and then views of the rugged coast, that have been described as the best in the world, open before you.
Emerging from a marvellous regenerating patch of coastal bush visitors will be stunned by the enormity of the sea cliffs, numerous caves, wild surf, storm shaped rock formations, off shore islets and islands and the variety of sea birds and aquatic life.
